I’m a criminal, so whatever you've done, I’ve no right to judge you.
When it comes down to it, I’d rather do what’s convenient more than anything else.

KILLING:
When faced with the choice between hard physical labor or no work at all in a city that favors humans, Mist chose a third option: become a criminal. After building a name for himself as a forger and thief, he fell in love with a casino owner and, for a time, was on top of the bottom of the world. It was great to be a cat.

It all came to a stop when he was killed trying to rob a grave to quickly earn money to save one of his sisters. He spent the next few centuries as a ghost, denied his right to enter any afterlife because 'bigger plans' were at play. He was mistakenly revived in Ten Towns much, much later, his bones mistaken for the noble he had been intending to rob--they had to stash his body somewhere, after all.

His goal all along had been to return to Baldur's Gate and solve his own murder, but along the way he made a few friends. With his former lover revived (and parted with), he has to figure out what to do with his life in a world that doesn't recognize him...and maybe put some of the dark powers interfering with the land to rest alongside his companions for good.
